/ November 28, 2011I guess the police will be the first to write themselves tickets.
That has got to be the silliest thing I have heard of. And a complete waste of taxpayer money. Ho hum.

/ November 28, 2011“There oughtta be a law” was the outcry. Where are the masses of Chapel Hill citizens calling out for this decree?
Also- can we now ban the following distractions as well: GPS systems, radios, husbands, toddler’s, wives, best friends, billboards, construction crews, distracted college students wandering into the street, deer, squirrels, bicyclists stuffed into too small tour de france outfits?
This is an embarrassing waste of time for the council and a craven political move designed to make people feel good about enacting a law. It will sadly have no impact. Lives will not be saved, accidents will not be prevented. I hope council will do the sensible thing and reject the idea.

/ November 28, 2011I have to agree with Barbara (well said)…this is a potential feel – good moment for a few
council members and nothing else. I want a tax refund if they spend another minute on this nonsense.

/ November 29, 2011All I can say is that at least one of the people voting for the ordinance failed to use a turn signal in a school zone. Should I make a citizen arrest?
The Town is becoming a joke.
