/ April 27, 2015Wow hizzhoner is smooth, makes me feel like I am being sold rather than being counseled. Glad Harrison spoke up.
Maria’s most accurate comments were that she was having a hard time processing……..and that she does not respond very well.
I think the fact that the speaker kept bringing up central west was telling. I think that experience contributed to the general suspicion and frustration of the neighbors. The town should understand that this is likely to be the case in other proposals.
The asynchronous communication process between parties and at each step is ridiculous. I ended up feeling sorry for the developer as well as for the neighborhood. It seemed like both parties wanted to talk and the town was in the way. I think they need to come up with a whole new process and that needs to involve all representatives at the same table, not in the council chambers.

/ April 27, 2015Maria Palmer is the Emily Litella of the Town Council. When she goes off on a tirade, I keep expecting her to stop short, realize she has misspoken and smile innocently at the cameras while she says, “Never mind!”
Reason and facts are wasted on Palmer. She has brought her own reality and preconceived notions the council. Unfortunately, her reality doesn’t gibe with the reality of Chapel Hill. But that won’t stop her from speaking and voting how she “feels.”
What a waste of a council seat!
